Wachtelhund Web Sites
Official web site of the German Deutscher Wachtelhund organization. The text is in German (Deutsch) but the pictures are great. The parent organization for our Wachtelhund breed.
DeutscherWachtelhund.org/ Dave Pepe's web site featuring his dogs and hunting trips. Pups for sale in the future. Much information about the breed translated into English. Pictures of Wachtelhunds. Much of the text from his site is reproduced here; thanks, Dave.
Wachtelhund.org/ site owned by Roy Aafedt and Gary Goerke. Pups for sale and other info. Pictures of Wachtelhunds hunting.
Wachtelhund.com/ This site now shows Roy and Gary's dogs.
Wachtelhund.net/ (This is were you are now).
United Kennel Club, UKC, the registering kennel club for Wachtelhund dogs in the United States.
Orthopedic Foundation for Animals, OFA; the organization that certifies hip/joint conditions for our dogs.

Equipment
k9-kondo, the one to get if you have the money.
Nelson Automatic Waterer, also the one to get if you have the money.
Lik-It, a more economical alternative to the above unit. I haven't tried it yet. Most pet stores/catalogs offer it.
First Aid Kit (canine), first aid kit in a pouch to fit on your belt. Something you should have. Take it with you; it won't do you any good if you leave it home. You could also assemble your own, see the equipment page. Also more info at golden-retriever.com.
L. L. Bean, The place to get stuff if they have what you want. Have had excellent service from them for years.
Cabela's, Lots of good equipment. I've had good service from them.
Herter's, waterfowl hunting stuff. I've had good, but slow, service from them in the past. Seems that they have employed Cabela's to do their web store sales. When you click on their URL it takes you to Cabela's. Just type in Herter's on the Cabela's search field.
Drs. Foster & Smith have many supplies for hunting dog owners. I have had good service from them. Haven't tried their new premium dog food yet; if you have used it please let me know how you dog does on it.
Devlin Boat Designer, Plans for duck hunting sneak boxes and prams. Also sells finished boats of various designs.
GUNDOGSUPPLY.com. Training supplies.
Training
The North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association, NAVHDA, has good info on training the versatile hunting dog. Training book for sale. Free plans for a training table.
Food/Meds
California Natural dog food. My dog loves it. There are stores that will order it for you if they don't have it already in stock. The food I fed her for a year while living in Calif.
IAMS dog food. My dog loves this one too.
Pet Pharm is a Canadian pharmacy that will ship meds to your vet. Your vet has to be willing to order for you. Some items are much cheaper even with postage but some items aren't; check prices first. I've had good service from them. You need to plan ahead since mail from Canada to the USA takes several weeks.
Costco Premium Lamb and Rice.
Books/Magazines
Gun Dog Magazine (will add links later)
Hunting Retriever Journal
Misc.
All brand names and trade marks are property of their respective owners. Not all items listed have been used by me, most items I use are noted as such in the description.
